Below you’ll find the full text of Chapter X of Bayard Taylor’s 1855 book, “The Lands of the Saracen; Pictures of Palestine, Asia Minor, Sicily and Spain.” The chapter, entitled “The Visions of Hasheesh” details Taylor’s incredibly intense second experience with Hasheesh in which he consumed significantly more than he intended to and proceeded to have a trip filled with incredibly high highs and incredibly low lows.
